AmazonJobs
OVERVIEW
As the Senior UX Designer at Amazon, I led the creation of a comprehensive design system for the company’s career site. With the goal of enhancing consistency, usability, and scalability, this system was built to support over 1,400 pages—each tailored to meet the needs of a diverse global audience exploring career opportunities at Amazon.

A system under strain…
Business Problem
Amazon’s career site served over 100 million users annually but was costly, inconsistent, and hard to evolve. Accessibility issues, poor mobile UX, and outdated design patterns led to a fragmented experience—hurting user engagement and talent acquisition.

LEGACY DESIGN
Designing for impact.
Strategy
A page-by-page redesign wouldn't solve the underlying complexity. I proposed a modular design system and content strategy that reduced maintenance overhead, improved consistency, and created a scalable foundation for future growth.
Turning ideas into outcomes.
Actions
DISCOVERY → DESIGN → COLLABORATION
DISCOVERY
Site Audit & Information Architecture
I audited existing content, created a new sitemap, and partnered with content strategists and developers to simplify the information architecture. This improved discoverability, clarified navigation, and established a scalable content structure.
DESIGN
Key Decisions
With 1,400+ pages and competing business priorities, I led a component-based migration instead of a full redesign. Through content and component audits, I identified reusable patterns, defined the initial module library, and aligned stakeholders on which modules to launch first and which to prioritize next.
COLLABORATION
Leadership & Collaboration
I drove alignment across design, engineering, content, and our CMS partner through documentation, workshops, and migration planning. I defined module data mappings, guided implementation decisions, and helped onboard teams to the new CMS, ensuring consistent adoption across the organization.
Results
Pilot success
Validated the modular system with two pilot pages before scaling.
Scalable system
Built 30+ reusable modules that enabled accessible, responsive page creation without developer support.
Team enablement
Empowered writers, designers, and product owners to manage content independently, reducing bottlenecks.
Full rollout
Achieved full adoption across teams, job categories, locations, and evergreen content by the end of 2024.
